Carson City drama

Gov. Jim Gibbons' door is bolted. A legislative policeman is holding the doors shut in the old Assembly Chambers, where Speaker Barbara Buckley is practicing her speech.

In minutes Gibbons will deliver the speech that the governor hopes will start a new course for the administration.

Want to know the stakes of the governor's speech are?

Reno Gazette-Journal's Anjenette Damon is reporting that his senior political advisors, Sig Rogich and Monte Miller, are inside his office right now.

  1. I was let down by the assembly speakers speech, she spent most of her speech blaming Gibbons for the crisis and painting a very dark future for the state of Nevada. While there is enough blame to go around she seems determined to dump everything on Gibbons. It almost seems like she wants to have his job.

  2. She just wants the gubber to spend as much time doing his job as smooching in a dark parking lot. Or chasing the same woman at the rodeo. http://www.nevadaappeal.com/article/2008...
