Investigators think welding on the Monte Carlo roof might have played a role in the fire that broke out on Friday, Jan. 25. The Clark County Fire Department as no record of a required "hot work" permit that must be issued before welding can be done. An MGM Mirage executive said the contractor did obtain the necessary permit.
