Those who like it hot will love Saturday's weather forecast: High temperatures from 108 to 110 degrees with humidity levels of 30 to 40 percent.
The heat came on full blast today as Las Vegas reached a high of 108 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
However, late Saturday afternoon or evening clouds will begin to stream into our skies as a large thunderstorm complex, which formed in northern Mexico today moves north into the southwestern United States.
By Sunday afternoon, the weather service believes the monsoon will push a slug of moisture into the Las Vegas Valley that could bring at least 1.5 inches of rainfall to the area, bringing a threat of flash floods.
Sunday's cloud cover should hold down temperatures, unless clouds arrive as early as Saturday afternoon, which would lower the sizzle, the weather service said.
At least through Tuesday, the monsoon is expected to stay in the valley with afternoon and evening thunderstorms expected each day, the weather service said. After Tuesday, slow drying may occur, similar to this week's weather pattern.
I live in Florida now but lived in Las Vegas for 25 years. What is the big deal about the heat? Duh? It is supposed to sizzle this time of year. I miss the siz so much I'm spending July there.
