UNLV sophomore forward Ashleigh Shoughro has made quite an impact in her first season playing soccer in the Mountain West Conference.
With a goal and an assist in a rare victory at San Diego State on Friday, she earned her first league co-offensive player of the week honors Monday.
She assisted Haley Partridge, a senior from Springfield, Ill., to give the Rebels a 2-1 victory over the Aztecs, only the second time a UNLV team won a match at San Diego State.
Shoughro, a Palo Verde High graduate who played at the University of San Diego last season, has seven goals and four assists on the year. Those 18 points tie her for eighth on UNLV’s single-season chart.
Annii Magliulo recorded 25 points (11 goals, 3 assists) in 2002. A year earlier, Anita Pedford (11 goals, 2 assists) and Cristyn Enea (9 goals, 6 assists) had 24 points apiece to tie for second.
The Rebels (9-3-1) play at BYU on Thursday night.
