A 16-year-old boy wanted in the stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in the northwestern part of the Las Vegas Valley surrendered Thursday at the Metro Police Plaza Desk downtown.
The incident occurred at about 2:38 p.m. Wednesday on North Torrey Pines Drive near Dimming Avenue.
The victim was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital, police said.
Homicide detectives learned the victim, Richard Leroy Martinez of Las Vegas, and the suspect, later identified as Steven Hogue of Las Vegas, had been involved in an argument when Hogue pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times, police said.
An arrest warrant for murder with a deadly weapon was issued, but police said Hogue surrendered without incident.
Hogue has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
