Gov. Jim Gibbons says he has faced a "perfect storm" of crises during his term as governor, and his administration has handled them "remarkably well."

According to Nevada historians, Gov. Jim Gibbons' call for an off-year special session to address the state's budget shortfall was unprecedented.

The governor, in the midst of personal and political crisis, called legislators to Carson City to cut more out of Nevada’s ailing budget.

And after 12 hours, the session ended. An agreement forged by Assembly Speaker Barbara Buckley and Senate Majority Leader Bill Raggio passed both houses, and was forwarded to the governor, who has indicated he will sign them into law.
