Panic? Relax rebeltom....,

This team is 5-2, took losses from a well coached and athletic Cal team and a very deep Cinci. There is plenty of basketball to be played this season especially what's left with non conference play. We still have Fresno, UNR, Santa Clara, Arizona, Western Mich, Southern Utah and Louisville. Let's evaluate whether to be worried or not after non conference play. I say out of the teams I just mentioned they at least go 5-2. Then its conference time!... I'll admit this team was a bit over-hyped, remember last season we took non-conference shots from Louisville, AZ, UCSB, and some other team I forgot about, but still won the MWC tourney and went to the 2nd round of the Big Dance. You're just worried because you fed into the over-hype. That's ok, let's get back to reality and get hungry and play basketball!!! This team will be alright.

I'd add an ouch to that also cause this one stings a bit! But cant let it sting to long cause they gotta turn around and lace em up tomorrow against another quality aponent. Having a loss this early in the season against a team like that should teach this squad a lot about themselves. These guys cant get too down at all, take it, learn and get more hungry! I think after pulling ou the win in El Paso these guys got a lil to comfy with themselves...

Out of UNLV's players I would assume those scouts will be taking a good look at Wink playing on his home floor and all (if any are NBA scouts). As for our other seniors I would think only Darger has a chance of making an NBA roster. At 6'7" he'd have to get a little more mobile though cause on the NBA level he's a wing.....That guy would thrive over seas though, his game is already a little "European".

you pretty much summed it up couev,

The zone is what stalled us. USD did a REALLY good job mixing up their D. The Rebs needed more penetrate and kick/dish against it and to feed the inside more against the gaps. Too much settling for 3's (even though it was the eventual 3's by Darger & Wink that took them out of it). I'm sure these guys haven't seen nearly enough zone in practice, but that will change now!

Take it at face value.... USD is a capable, well coached team that BROUGHT BACK EVERYBODY FROM LAST SEASON and will be back in the tournament this year. Remember the game we had against them last year was just as close as this one, and that was after we already had a few cupcakes!.... I loved the lineup with Bellfield, Wink, Willis, Rougeau, and Darger too

They did you and most impotently those kids wrong at Fresno coach. You had some really good kids and teams those years. Rafer Alston, Melvin Ely, Courtney Alexander, Chris Heren....

Thanks
