Kantowski got the details wrong about why the MWC left ESPN. It wasn't because of the Thursday night games -- we'd been doing them for years and were used to them. The problem was that ESPN wanted to put the ACC on Thursday (yes, after WE established it as a night for football), meanwhile pushing the MWC into Tuesday and Friday night games. I guess ESPN wanted us to pioneer those nights of the week, too. Also, they were going to decrease the money in the contract. All put together, it was a contract that would be great for them but horrible for the conference.
